Det st\u00f8rste problem var vindkraftens oplagring fra stormdagene til de vindstille dage. Det var ideen til en l\u00f8sning af dette problem, som fik ham til at s\u00f8ge Finansudvalget om penge til en fors\u00f8gsm\u00f8lle i Askov, og i 1891 stod fors\u00f8gsm\u00f8llen klar og fors\u00f8gene\u00a0kunne g\u00e5 i gang.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: times new roman, times, serif;\">Ved hj\u00e6lp af vindens energi skulle vingernes bev\u00e6gelse f\u00e5 en dynamo til at fremstille elektricitet, som derefter blev ledt ned i et kar med vand,\u00a0hvor elektriciteten ville spalte vandet i luftarterne ilt og brint, som skulle opsamles i hver sin tank. I f\u00f8rste omgang kunne gasserne bruges til belysning, som det skete p\u00e5 Askov H\u00f8jskole, men Poul La Cour fandt ogs\u00e5 ud af, at luftarterne kunne bruges til autogensvejsning. En tid var han f\u00f8rende p\u00e5 dette omr\u00e5de.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: times new roman, times, serif;\">La Cour blev hele sit liv ved med at finde nye metoder til at opsamle energien, idet han fandt akkumulatorer for dyre. Han pr\u00f8vede at lade m\u00f8llen lave natronlud, calciumkarbid og kunstg\u00f8dning. Men til sidst m\u00e5tte han konkludere, at det mest realistiske var et mindre akkumulatorbatteri, der kunne klare et d\u00f8gns forbrug. Hvis der var tale om en g\u00e5rdm\u00f8lle, m\u00e5tte man finde sig i ikke at kunne t\u00e6rske under vindstille og i det hele taget indrette sig efter vejret<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: times new roman, times, serif;\">Hvis en st\u00f8rre m\u00f8lle skulle fungere som elv\u00e6rk, m\u00e5tte den udstyres med reservekraft i form af en benzin- eller gasmotor.\u00a0\u00a0Den m\u00f8lle, han fik bevilget penge til i 1897, blev efter nogle \u00e5r indrettet til en prototype p\u00e5 et elv\u00e6rk, Askov Elv\u00e6rk, som fungerede fint i de efterf\u00f8lgende 30 \u00e5r, endda med et meget moderat forbrug af reservekraft.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Elektrolysek\u00e6lderen under Poul la Cours m\u00f8llebygning i Askov, ca. \u00e5r 1900.
